Emily Ensley, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Emily Jones Ensley, OTR/L, joined the Sensory Puzzles team as a full-time occupational therapist in March 2023, following her Level II fieldwork rotation with the clinic. Her time at Sensory Puzzles confirmed her deep passion for working alongside children and using therapeutic play to support their development. What began as an academic opportunity quickly became her dream job—one that allows her to lead with a servant’s heart, learn from her colleagues, and teach through play every day.

Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Education, Summa Cum Laude, with a concentration in Recreational Therapy from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville in 2020. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, Magna Cum Laude, at Milligan University in 2022.

Her clinical experience is well-rounded. During graduate school, Emily gained valuable experience working across multiple settings including neurological, burn care, emergency, and ICU units. She has also worked in inpatient rehab with a focus on orthopedics and post-COVID recovery. In pediatrics, Emily had the unique opportunity to provide therapy services in a faith-based school for students on the autism spectrum—an experience that helped reinforce her commitment to supporting children’s development through occupational therapy.

Emily is especially passionate about helping children build self-confidence and independence. She has additional training in primitive reflex integration, sensory-based interventions, ADHD strategies, and therapeutic approaches for children on the autism spectrum. She is currently working toward certification in Sensory Integration, and continues to grow under the mentorship of seasoned professionals.

Outside of work, you can catch Emily spending time with her husband and dog, cheering on the Tennessee Vols, making memories with family, and soaking up sunshine on the lake during summer.
